Sunday, 9/5/2004 7:15 EDT Francis continues across Florida, but we've spent the day in between the feeder bands. Rain about 2" in 24 hours, and winds 20-30, gusts to 35. All very fine by comparison. We may end up in a band overnight, but with the eye of the storm moving away from us N and W we should have a calm night here.

Everyone urged us to make a FEMA application, along with our insurance application. The insurance man gave me a check for $1,000 as an advance on the following Tuesday after the storm when he entered my claim. I made the FEMA claim request by phone. The FEMA adjustor came yesterday about 1:45 PM and inspected the house. When he left I went to the park post office and there was a letter there from FEMA saying I was not eligible for any claim on FEMA. Quick, huh?

We hope for an easy night, but while I'm typing this blog I notice the wind has started to whistle, so it's still an open question. I'll post again after daylight tomorrow............bye, henry
