Curious Mind

The human mind understands such a small sliver of the information contained in the universe. How can humans make progress towards understanding what is really going on?

Privacy is easy to breach

This is a important story because it centers on the reality of what hundreds of politicians and pundits are talking about in the Karl Rove case.

Karl Rove's defence so far is that he didn't even know the agents name.

However, David Lazarus, a SFGate.com reporter, used the facts that Rove gave to Cooper to establish the agent's name in less than half an hour.

Let's see how the spin turns out on this fact. s/Henry

Kevin Brown in Kuwait

Hi all,

We are here in Camp Beuhring in Udari Kuwait. It is hot and like standing 6 inches from a giant hair dryer from 8am to about 8PM. If you want to get an idea of how hot it is, on one of the good hot July days sit in your car with the windows up and the heater on high for about 2 hours.

I drink from 3-4 gallons of water a day. We have been shooting our tanks a few times. We are getting ready to head north in a few days. I will e-mail again when I get north. I can check my mail sometimes so keep the e-mails coming. Thank you all for all of the support that you have given me and my family, it really helps.

Report from Punta Gorda, FL 7:30 Sat AM

Hard rain most of last night. Not as much wind as I expected. This AM quiet rain, quiet wind. I don't know yet what's coming for the rest of the day. All our shutters are latched down, and blowable objects have been secured. The only window to look out is the little window in the kitchen door. Power and water still OK, but dip or go out for a few seconds after an extremely close lightning strike. The kind that have the sizzle, flash and bang all at the same time. Cool. When I went out to get the newspapers I saw the street was full of water. Probably not enough to canoe, but close.

We are OK. More report later. Henry and Pat

Where the hell has Henry been?

Well, Henry has been OK, but busy working on poetry and writing and publishing on the internet on AuthorsDen.com. Since Feb 1 this year I have almost 34,000 hits, which I prefer to call page reads. That means that someone looked at a page. I have stats that show exactly how many hits each poem and story have received. So I can keep track of the winners and the losers. It's been facinating to me to be able to put something up and read the feedback from AuthorsDen members, and later to see the hits add up from all the visitors as well as members.

A second project has been making video of me reading my poems and putting them up on AuthorsDen.com. I'm noticing video expanding all over the web. News and music mostly, but poetry readings by poets are a natural and I expect to see others doing the same. Audio has been around for a long time, but video-that's new.

I don't know if video can be added to the blog but I'll find out. I've not been on this blog for about six weeks and I see there is a new system for putting up photos. I've put some recent one's up. You can see I've not figured out how to do it properly.

I've also been working on some new ideas for poems and essays. Now to get it down on paper.

I wish readers on this blog good luck and good health. Henry

This is Eleanor sitting in her plant area between our properties. It's nice to have a neighbor who has a green thumb. Pat and I certainly enjoy her gardening work.
Eleanor, our neighbor is doing real well these days. Mowing her lawn, running her weekwhacker and keeping busy. It's great to have her recovering from her recent bout with shingles.

Here is some of the big machinery working on our water plant.
Here is a recent quilt that Pat just finished.
Well I got this picture twice. Why I don't know. Any way here some young customers viewing the lobsters at Red Lobster eatery. Pat and I were there for lunch recently.

Here is a recent stamp purchase. Out of sight to the left are about 25 boxes of mixture and other material. The total was 50 boxes. I've been busy working this material up for sale.
