Curious Mind

The human mind understands such a small sliver of the information contained in the universe. How can humans make progress towards understanding what is really going on?

My fate has been revealed to me by a simple test I took on the internet at the website link below. Here is what was determined for me. henry

"You are one of the lucky ones! Because of your virtue and beliefs, you have escaped eternal punishment. You are sent to the First Level of Hell - Limbo!"

Here is their description of the First Level of Hell - Limbo...

"Charon ushers you across the river Acheron, and you find yourself upon the brink of grief's abysmal valley. You are in Limbo, a place of sorrow without torment. You encounter a seven-walled castle, and within those walls you find rolling fresh meadows illuminated by the light of reason, whereabout many shades dwell. These are the virtuous pagans, the great philosophers and authors, unbaptised children, and others unfit to enter the kingdom of heaven. You share company with Caesar, Homer, Virgil, Socrates, and Aristotle. There is no punishment here, and the atmosphere is peaceful, yet sad."

Mike's happy family at McDonalds June 9, 2004 Posted by Hello

The pic above is of Mike's happy family. I was sitting in McDonald's this morning when this family came in all smiles and headed to the bathrooms. Mike came out first and I asked him if I could take a pic of him and his happy family. He said, "Sure." When the rest of the family came out they let me take this pic.

Mike and family are from Minnasota and are on vacation. They had been as far south as Naples and were driving back on US 41 to I-4 to Orlando to fly home.

This brief encounter with strangers brightened my whole day. Here is an example of what's going right in the world.

Last night was Open Mike, where folks bring in prose, poems or music they have written and read for the group. Carol Mahler reads for me. This poem received favorable comments.

Democracy

by Henry B Stevens
11/23/2003

From the hightest earthly pinnacle
The Man said
"you're either for us
or you are against us"

I watched in horror
as I heard him
say it on live TV .

Democracy died before
the echo of his words (reverberated)
in that hallowed chamber

No discussion?
No dissent?

"we're right
you are wrong"

"my God is bigger
than your god"

"my God will win
you will die in sin"

All these words said
and repeated and
approved by the
MAN and his people

A possible majority of hanging chads
so close it couldn't be
counted

only annointed, not elected
is not a license to
hunt down the other half

vilify, label unpatriotic,
equate their
lack of faith
with sedition.

I'm an old man
i can afford to speak
Democracy is discussion
dissent, respect; yes, love

soon they will try to muzzle my speech
by putting a muzzle to my head
when I speak out,
they will pull the trigger

they'll pull the trigger millions of times
till they break the will
of those who still stand

against them,
stand against their God

Bless America
Amen
