Curious Mind

The human mind understands such a small sliver of the information contained in the universe. How can humans make progress towards understanding what is really going on?

The A.C.L.U. sold themselves for less than .5% of their annual budget. Their budget is 102 million and to protect $470,000, they agreed to use a government supplied terror watch list and not hire anyone on that list. What a classic sell out.

See link here, and a recent poem by me after that.......

The New York Times > Washington > A.C.L.U. Board Is Split Over Terror Watch Lists

Trust
by Henry Burt Stevens
6/17/2004

Anymore trust's
not worth
it's previous price

Sold cheaply by
business, church, government
for only money

It took a while
Mom, flag, apple pie
still holding up

But subject to
general suspect-
who's next?

The denials
are quick, strong
and unequivocal

Until the judge's
sentence ends
their oozing betrayal

They knew at inception
they were lying-
their deception failed.

serial destruction
by 6's
in 1 year intervals.

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party.
Not only do I now have a gmail account, hank330@gmail.com but goggle is now inviting me to create web pages on their free server.  As a person whose material is already googled as far back as May 18, 1996, and who is now actively creating poetry chapbooks this is an offer too good to pass up.

So I'll bring my limited, but very serviceable HTML and ideas here and publish. Thanks goggle.

"He had challenged my integrity. And I didn't like that. But most of all I didn't like the fact that after he had done so, then he wanted to act like everything's peaches and cream. And I informed him of my view of his conduct in no uncertain terms. And, as I say, I felt better afterwards." Vice President Richard Cheney speaking on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

If you would like to feel better after someone challenges your integrity then you have the words to express yourself.

As President Clinton was the greatest sex educator of recent years, so VP Cheney will be remembered as the person who brought the most informally used word into formal usage.

An AP newstory, Modoc National Forest, CA today reports on the Rainbow Family Gathering with the headline, "Over the rainbow," "Neo-hiippies gather to pray for peace."

Sarieh, cradling her 2 1/2 year-old daughter, Zakiaya, on her hip is quoted as saying "Everybody with a bellybutton is a Rainbow. Some people just don't know it yet"

I thought, what if more people would realize the bellybutton connection. Wouldn't it be better for the world?

Here's a link to a bellybutton photo collection. It's wonderful.
