The human mind understands such a small sliver of the information contained in the universe. How can humans make progress towards understanding what is really going on?

(Note Kevin is my second cousin, and the only family member heading for duty in Iraq. Feel free to offer him any encouragement you wish. His wife and family wait for his retun at their Morrisville home. s/henry) ...........................................................
Hi,
I just got out of the field for 5 days. We did squad training, which is something new for us tankers. We were infintry and I have a whole new look on what they do. Since Sunday I have had 18 hours sleep. It is a good thing.
I would just like to thank everyone for all of the e-mail and letters/cards that everyone has been sending. My address for anyone that does not have it is:

We do not have Internet in the barracks yet, so I am at Battalion on a government computer. They are trying to get us service in the barracks.
The weather here is aright. This is the rainy season for here. It has been between 50-70 during the days. We have a couple of days for maintenance and then we will go into the M1A1 transition.
I have been very busy here but I am always thinking of all of you at home. Some days it is easy but other days it is very hard.
Once again thank you for all that everyone is doing. I will let people know if there is anything that I need. Right now the only thing that I can think of is some knee pads and elbow pads. Please talk to other people and see who or if people can pitch in to get them. Once again thanks for all of the support. I will try to write again.

Making do. I believe this is an committee meeting in progress. It's a nice day, so they are meeting outdoors, not even using the tents which are tempoary rec hall. We've been having some beautiful weather. Day and day.
View from further South, showing the new building steel rafters, equipment, the old shop building, which is being retained. The next picture will show the slab for the new building just beyond the old shop, and will show the old rec hall that is going to be repaired.
The slab of the new office/rec hall that has just been poured and troweled. This completed building will be used as a rec hall to start with while the blue roofed damaged building, the old rec hall, is being rebuilt. Then the office will move into this new building and the rec hall will again be the rec hall. Alligator Park is on it's way back, bigger and better than ever.
Jerry McDevitt letting in a little light with the old windows. Jerry says, "Tell my sisters I'm working down here." I can vouch that's the truth. Eleanor's house will have siding and windows one day and it will be pictured and reported here.
Much of my time these days is spent on my poetry. Here is an example poem. http://www.authorsden.com/henrybstevens will take you to my pages on AurthorsDen.com where much of my poetry is posted.
My poetry, articles, and stories there can be copied and emailed to those folks you would like to share them with.
Deer Tracks by Henry Burt Stevens
Rain-softened mud showed clear deer tracks where mother and little one earlier crossed my path.
One set smaller wandering back and forth among the steadier, larger tracks.
I stopped, stooped and placed the vee of my spread fingers in one of the tracks and felt the deer.
The next rain will flatten all the mud again, and erase these sharp prints.
I realized that my foot prints will also disappear but it was all right,
better; at once I was free, unfettered. I walked along counting the minutes of my great day.
Captain Morrill's Company at a recent reenactment held Daniel Webster's birthplace in Salisbury, New Hampshire.. Left to right Charlie, Capt Morrill, Cynthia, Sarah, and Dave Welch.
Beth on left, mother of the Quads, two boys and two girls who were visiting next. Pat and I were thrilled to see the family. Pat has always been interested in the Dionne quints. In fact, Pat belongs to the Dionne Quint Society.
This is the real good news. Monday was Eleanor's first day without pain from shingles since around August 1st last year. We all hope the pain does not return and Eleanor can be her previous self again.
The start of the job. Mr Calvert is going to rework our roof into a smaller one at his park model in the park. We're happy someone could gain. Note the shutter that I scrounged right after Charley to provide shade and rain protection to our doorway. Later you see how this was rebuilt to original design. This is how it goes, we help one an other.
